Objective To reduce vibrations and stabilize system operation at any rotational speed and operating temperature. Development Path Extensive theoretical and practical evaluations of all existing ball, roller, and radial sliding systems revealed unsatisfactory results. Numerous prototypes with alternative metallic systems were tested without success. Only after exhaustive laboratory and track testing was the Torsion Controller project perfected.
Solution This advanced component addresses two major issues: During the shifting curve excursion, the bushing of the mobile pulley (torque corrector) slides axially along the hub of the fixed pulley and rotates slightly, twisting the contrast spring. In some cases, the spring rubs against the mass holder plate (metal on metal), while in others it remains in place, causing inconsistent opposing forces.
At high rotational speeds, centrifugal forces deform the spring, causing skidding and strong vibrations, which are bothersome for the rider, harmful to the engine, and result in an inconsistent compression curve.
Outcome After extensive testing both in the lab and on the track, the project has been approved for all types of scooters examined, achieving full satisfaction in performance and reliability.
