The Italjet Dragster 200 Gears Up for a Second Spectacular Year at the Malossi Racing Academy

Following a remarkable debut in 2023, the iconic Italjet Dragster 200 is once again taking center stage at the Malossi Racing Academy for its second consecutive year. This thrilling event is set to commence on the weekend of April 15-16 at the prestigious Modena Autodrome, marking the first of five adrenaline-pumping events.

This year, the legacy continues as ten skilled riders will take to the tracks on the Dragster 200, meticulously prepared by the renowned Bolognese brand for top-notch performance. Renowned for its distinctive motorcycle-esque trellis frame and pioneering front suspension system, the Dragster is ready to demonstrate its racing mettle in a series of competitions.

The Dragster 200, which pays homage to Italjet's classic 1990s model, is powered by a robust single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. Its innovative design features an aluminum single-sided arm and monoshock for the front suspension, a significant departure from traditional forks, ensuring it remains a standout on the track.

After its inaugural race appearance on Italian soil last year, the Dragster has returned, enhanced by a Malossi-developed kit that includes upgrades to the transmission, cylinder, exhaust, control unit, and more, all adorned in the signature yellow-orange livery. These modifications not only reduce the scooter's weight by 10 kg but also boost its power to 21 horsepower at 9,000 rpm.

The Malossi Racing Academy, a fusion of racing school and competition, aims to mentor young enthusiasts aged 14 to 30 in the art of circuit racing. The academy provides a platform for aspiring racers to hone their skills and immerse themselves in the racing culture, with the Italjet Dragster trophy as a highlight.

The collaboration between Italjet and Malossi represents a harmonious partnership between two historic Bolognese brands, with Italjet founded in 1960 and Malossi tracing its roots back to the 1930s. Massimo Tartarini, President and CEO of Italjet Spa, reflects on this synergy: "The Dragster isn't just a scooter with motorcycle aesthetics; it embodies a profound racing spirit. Our collaboration with the Malossi Racing Academy in 2024 offers young riders a chance to experience the thrill of the track aboard a sporty, nimble, and lightweight machine, embodying Italjet's enduring passion for racing and innovation.
