Italjet’s Racing Legacy
Racing has been part of Italjet’s DNA since the very beginning. Our founder, Leopoldo Tartarini, was a professional racer for Benelli and Ducati before establishing Italjet in 1959. His competitive mindset and passion for motorsport have shaped our brand and products ever since, even our scooters, which are designed to embody a sporty, high-performance edge.
This motorsport pedigree has continued throughout Italjet’s history. In the 1980s, our Enduro and Trials team achieved great success, with iconic American rider Bernie Schreiber bringing Italjet to victory.
In 1996, Italjet sponsored the renowned pink McLaren at the Le Mans 24 Hours
In 1997, we became the official supplier of paddock scooters to the Williams F1 team, culminating in the release of the iconic Italjet Formula Williams edition.
By the early 2000s, Italjet had its own 125cc World Championship team, with Leon Haslam at the helm.
Our commitment to motorsport extends beyond professional racing. The ongoing partnership with Malossi for the Malossi Racing Academy is now in its third year, giving young riders the chance to experience motorsport at a more accessible price point. This initiative is one we hold especially dear, as it represents our dedication to nurturing the next generation of racers.
