Race Day Recap: Marc and Alex Márquez in the Top Five
Saturday’s sprint race proved exciting as both Marc and Alex showcased their talent and dedication, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Marc, currently fighting for a top-three position in the championship standings, faced a series of challenges but ultimately secured valuable points. Despite a crash in Q2 and a competitive grid, Marc started strong and maintained an intense battle against the Desmosedici GP24 machines, positioning himself for a solid finish. In Marc’s words, “Today, we didn’t have the pace to stay with the frontrunners, but tomorrow’s realistic goal is to finish as high as today.” With these points under his belt, Marc’s focus now shifts to Sunday’s race, where he aims to stay close to the leaders.
On Alex’s side, the day brought a determined comeback from a fifth-place start, quickly climbing three spots after the lights went out. His impressive finish in fifth keeps him within striking distance of the top ten in the championship, as he’s now only a few points behind rivals Espargaro and Bezzecchi. Reflecting on his performance, Alex noted, “Tomorrow’s race is going to be a long one, and we’ll need to manage the tire wear…there are valuable points up for grabs.” With Alex eager for Sunday’s race, Team Gresini fans have much to look forward to.
