Silverstone. Fast, iconic, and characteristically unpredictable, a circuit that demands precision and punishes hesitation. This weekend, Albert Arenas rides solo for Italjet Gresini, stepping into the spotlight with purpose and poise as Moto2 returns to the UK.
With only one rider on track but the full force of the Italjet Gresini team behind him, this isn’t about holding the line. It’s about pushing forward.

Friday practice delivered classic British conditions: moody skies, swirling wind, and a surface that offered little forgiveness. Through it all, Arenas focused in, clocking a strong 2:03.334 in Practice 2 to secure direct entry into Q2, a clear marker of intent.
“Silverstone: always a great race, I really like this circuit. We will certainly have fun, but the weather will be unpredictable and that could be a determining factor. Our goal will be to continue to be consistent in the race and have an even more competitive set-up to fight for the podium until the end. We will focus day by day: on Friday we will do all the tests we need to improve further.”
– Albert Arenas
Albert didn’t just find the time, he found consistency, delivering when it mattered most. With conditions changing lap by lap, his ability to adapt and commit under pressure was a testament to the experience and focus he brings to the team.
Inside the Italjet box, the atmosphere was confident and sharp. The bike is in a strong window, the rider is comfortable, and the team is united in the goal: to take this solo outing and turn it into something meaningful.
A Man Down, But Not Out
Darryn Binder is benched this weekend. A fractured ulna means our South African stormbringer is healing up at home, no doubt shouting at the livestream like a man watching his team from the stands, foot up, throttle hand twitching.
“I would have loved to be riding here, but we’ll be back strong at Aragon.” – Darryn Binder
The garage feels his absence, but the energy doesn’t dip, it just shifts, sharpens. There’s a job to do. And Albert’s doing it with Binder firmly in mind, not just representing Italjet, but the whole Gresini Team.
Looking ahead to qualifying and race day, the only certainty is more uncertainty. The Silverstone forecast remains as changeable as ever, but that plays to our strengths. Adaptability, focus, and execution, these are the hallmarks of a team that’s here to do more than just compete.

Albert Arenas carries the banner this weekend, but he’s not carrying it alone. The Italjet spirit is behind him, the crew is dialled in, and Binder’s support is never far away.
This is Moto2. This is Silverstone. This is Italjet Gresini fully committed, even when flying solo.
Let’s race....
