Arenas Finishes Sixth in Le Mans — Solid Points, Hard Weekend

Le Mans. A track that looks like it wants to help you. Long straights. Wide corners. Room to move. But underneath the flow, this place bites. Make a mistake here, and it won't just ruin your lap, it'll ruin your weekend.

Just ask Darryn Binder.

Early in Free Practice 1, Turn 9, Binder tangled with Zonta van der Goorbergh in a high-speed incident that brought his session to a sudden, painful halt. A misjudged moment, tight margins, and no way out. The result? A heavy crash and an early end to his weekend.

"I'm going to Barcelona to fix it as fast as possible, and I hope to be back soon and healthy again." - Darryn Binder #15, battered but unbroken

We're wishing Darryn a smooth recovery, and we can't wait to see him back in the saddle, where he belongs, preferably at full throttle.

With Binder sidelined, the full weight fell on Albert Arenas. And he didn't flinch. Qualifying was savage, Arenas missed the front row by 0.006 seconds. That's less time than it takes to blink, cough, or regret a gear shift. He lined up angry, focused, and ready to fight.

When the lights dropped, he went full attack mode. This wasn't survival, this was assault. He threw the bike into every braking zone like it owed him something. The fight for a podium was real, and Arenas was right in the middle of it. But every fight has a cost. The final laps saw the front brake performance start to drop off the price of going full beast mode from the opening lap.

"We wrap up another solid weekend. A pity about the last six laps: we were in the battle for third place, but I had used the front brake a lot at the start of the race, so at the end of the race the braking power decreased. We know we have to work on this, we have the direction to make another step forward for Silverstone. I'd like to thank the guys for the work done, now we have to stay focused and keep giving it all."

- Albert Arenas #75, cool under pressure

Sixth across the line. No podium, no champagne, but no quit either. Arenas rode like hell. Sitting 9th in the championship, 38 points to his name, 39 adrift from the bronze, he's not out of the fight. Far from it. This is Moto2, where fortunes can nosedive faster than a cold front over Le Mans.

French GP Result

Championship Standings

🏁 19th – Binder – 10 points

Next Stop: Silverstone.

Where the air is wet, the apexes are blind, and the racetrack punches like a heavyweight. Arenas is coming in with momentum. Binder's working his way back. The chaos is loading.
